THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 7 (61 Days until Victory 2006)
- Jobs Today, Jobs Tomorrow: Governor Granholm announced 61 job creation projects that will receive money from her 21st Century Jobs Fund. The funding will help diversify Michigan’s economy by spurring growth and new jobs in emerging industries like life sciences, alternative energy and homeland security.
- The Most Aggressive Economic Plan in the Country: The jobs funding announced yesterday is just the first $100 million of $2 billion that will be invested to create jobs and diversify our economy. And, it is only one part of the Governor’s comprehensive plan to get Michigan’s economy back on track.
- Another Negative Attack: Dick DeVos released another scurrilous negative attack on Governor Granholm yesterday. What DeVos is not telling us about is his support for the people and the policies that have ravaged Michigan’s economy and have hurt our people in the process. The 6-year-old company is developing portable power systems for the government, but wants to sell them to the private sector. "Now we can take this technology that we've bootstrapped and grown with the military to commercial applications," said Aaron Crumm, Adaptive Materials' president and founder.
